The Surprise

My heart pounded out of my chest as I was shoved out of the van by my captors. I thought of escaping but it was useless. My hands were tied and I was blindfolded.

It felt like a scene from Taken, my favorite movie.

I was led by the hand into a room and made to sit on a chair.

“This is how I die,” my voice trailed off when I heard movements in the room.

“Happy birthday!” everyone shouted as the blindfold was removed.

I frowned and then laughed. It was the craziest and best birthday surprise stunt ever.
